Elk Mountain Motors is a specialty independent shop in Woodfin, NC. We focus on European imports, Asian vehicles, and the vintage enthusiast cars that deserve real attention from people who actually understand them.
I came to the auto repair industry on a slightly different path than most. I had over 20 years’ experience in sales and engineering before I decided to open my own business. I worked for several Fortune 500 and 1000 companies. I have experience in Process Control, Lightning Protection, Surge Protection, Grounding, and automation. I am also a car guy and 4x4 driving enthusiast through and through. These experiences have provided me with a wide breadth of knowledge and capability when it comes to leading the team at Elk Mountain Motors. I am still passionate about cars and it comes through in everything we do.
What drives the work — in Rob's own words.
The mission of Elk Mountain Motors is to provide the best possible service, repair and restoration for all vehicles. We will achieve this through a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. We strive to provide an outstanding level of customer service where we create customers for life. We will conduct our business in such a manner that we do no unnecessary harm to the environment and support local efforts to protect and rehabilitate the French Broad River Basin and Blue Ridge Mountains.
Elk Mountain Motors’ vision is to create an automotive service and reconditioning business where customers are welcome and treated like friends, providing outstanding service and expertise. We will create a space for local auto enthusiasts to gather and immerse themselves in car culture. It is, after all, our team’s passion for cars that drives this business. EM Motors will not only service and repair automobiles but offer performance upgrades, restoration and consultation services.
We tell you what your car actually needs — not what pads the invoice. We explain it in plain language, take the time to answer your questions, and never pressure you into repairs that can wait.
We use OEM and branded parts whenever possible — not the cheapest aftermarket option. If you're driving a Porsche, a Land Rover, or a vintage BMW, your car deserves parts built to the same standard it was.
We respect your time. Most work is completed quickly and on schedule. If something unexpected comes up mid-repair, we call you first — you decide how to proceed. No surprises on the invoice.
We know your car isn't optional. Ask about our loaner when you call — we'll do our best to keep you moving while we take care of yours.
We're not currently hiring, but we're always interested in connecting with skilled technicians who care about quality work. Check back — things change.
